walk infront of object problem

i cant get the player to walk infront of an object i have in the scene. i have played around with the object center but it always stays on top of the player. i have deleted the object and put it in the scene again but its still not being nice to me.

any idea why this might be happening or how to fix it?

You have to set the object center correctly AND the scene objects have to be in the right order in the objects' list (because objects in the background have to be drawn first, objects in the foreground last). You can sort them automatically by hitting the double-arrow button above the list (rightmost button).
